Child Support Process
There are 7 steps involved in setting up your case:
COVID-19 Economic Impact Payment Information
The first round of economic impact payments made to eligible noncustodial parents who owe past-due child support will be withheld by the amount of past-due child support. These payments may be held until June 30, 2021, pending any possible adjustments. Payments will not be withheld if the past-due amount does not exceed the minimum requirement for federal tax refund offset. The economic impact payment offsets will adhere to the same fees, distribution timeframes and hold periods as federal tax refund offsets. The second round of economic impact payments were not withheld to pay past-due child support nor were the funds subjected to levy when deposited. However, the second round of economic impact payments that were made by way of tax credit in a tax return are subject to be offset. The third round of economic impact payments and advance child tax credit payments will not be offset. However, these funds can be subject to bank account levy once deposited.

NOTICE: Paternity Acknowledgment Form and Hospital Limitations
Hospital visitor limitations have prevented some parents from adding the father’s name to their child’s birth certificate. Parents can complete Paternity Acknowledgment (PA) forms at a Vital Records office to update the birth certificate.
